Promoting Sound Science in Food Safety
Project Description
The North American Metal Packaging Alliance (NAMPA) engaged Stanton Communications to provide a full range of strategic communications services to assist the metal food packaging industry in responding to negative attacks on Bisphenol-A (BPA) based epoxy can linings. Since the beginning of its relationship with NAMPA, Stanton Communications has assisted the industry with responding to regulatory reviews on BPA by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Health Canada, the European Food Safety Authority, as well as other state-based reviews including California’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment. Throughout its engagement with NAMPA, the Stanton team has aggressively responded to attacks on the industry from activist groups and secured placements in high profile public policy outlets such as Roll Call. NAMPA’s relationship with Stanton Communications continues to evolve, especially on social media to expand the Alliance’s share of the conversation on food safety issues on Facebook and Twitter.
