Amy Calhoun of Stanton CommunicationsAmy Calhoun, Agency Principal

Amy leads the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. She develops and directs communications strategies to build sales, build positioning, and build brand loyalty. Amy joined Stanton Communications from the e-commerce services provider GE Information Services, now GXS, where she was responsible for the public relations campaign

associated with the global re-branding of the company. She also regularly managed the media program for the company’s international e-commerce conference and developed communications strategy linked to corporate initiatives. The winner of multiple Silver Anvil awards for programs that achieved sales milestones for her clients, she integrates consumer’s sensibility for brands with a communicator’s knowledge of how to motivate the purchasing decision. A Rutgers University graduate, Amy is a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society and Phi Beta Kappa. She also studied as a Rotary Ambassadorial scholar at the Free University of Berlin.

 

Cathy Imus of Stanton Communications

Catherine Imus, Managing Director, Public Affairs

Catherine conceives and conducts policy and legislative initiatives on behalf of clients in the chemicals, health care, transportation, construction and engineering industries, among many others. Her 25-year career includes positions in the media, government, and corporate and association leadership. Catherine joined Stanton Communications in 2001 from a national trade association where she was executive director for a broad consumer education and industry awareness campaign. Previously, she directed communications for an association of manufacturers where she dealt with issues related to worker safety, public health and the environment. For eight years, she was a vice president of Ketchum, working exclusively in public affairs. She also worked as a lobbyist for Bethlehem Steel. Catherine began her career as a news director and later a news anchor for a leading radio station in Indiana. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Miami University of Ohio with a degree in mass communications and political science.

 

Lori Russo of Stanton Communications

Lori Russo, Managing Director

Lori leads the firm’s office in Baltimore and guides client programs in the educational technology, marketing communications and travel and tourism sectors. She also serves as a member of the prestigious luncheon committee of The National Press Club in Washington, D.C. As a former assignment editor and broadcast news producer, Lori brings a journalist’s eye to her work for clients, ensuring that their programs and products are well-presented to the media. Lori is a board member of the Association for Corporate Growth – Maryland and was included in PRWeek Magazine’s list of “40 Under 40″ professionals to watch. She is a graduate of Towson University in Maryland with a degree in communications.

 

Patrick Brady of Stanton CommunicationsPatrick Brady, Senior Vice President

Patrick supports the company’s public affairs and health care activities. His most recent experience includes working with global health care companies on corporate communications and public affairs activities; overseeing the launch of an $80 million casino; developing an advocacy campaign on environmental issues; and supporting association outreach and rebranding campaigns. Patrick has developed and implemented public affairs campaigns in 41 states and Washington, D.C., and oversaw a grassroots issue awareness campaign that targeted Iowa and New Hampshire during the 2000 Presidential primaries. Patrick has a Master’s degree in American Politics from The Catholic University of America and a B.A. from Fairfield University.

 

Peter Stanton of Stanton Communications

Peter V. Stanton, President and CEO

Peter founded Stanton Communications in 1989 following nearly a decade as an officer MSL/Publicis in Washington, D.C. Peter’s depth of experience has assured that, from the outset, his firm offered the capability and breadth to represent the giants of U.S. industry as well as entrepreneurial start-ups, non-profit organizations and institutions. Peter directed the firm’s domestic expansion. He secured its full participation in PR World Alliance, an international network of independent communications firms that he now chairs. He assembled a team of talented professionals who have served at the highest levels of industry leadership and have created programs recognized with the industry’s highest awards. Peter is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America and its distinguished Counselors Academy. He has served on PRSA’s continuing education faculty. He is published on the practice and principles of effective communications. He is a member of The National Press Club and holds graduate and undergraduate degrees from Loyola University in Baltimore.
