Holiday Messaging, Brand Reputation, AI, and More

Happy Tuesday, Lunch Breakers! It’s that time of year again, where holiday parties and gift-giving can make it hard to keep up. Here at Stanton, we’re celebrating the holiday season with a little friendly competition of who has the best office décor.

In this week’s edition, we’re talking holiday messaging, social media tips and tricks, brand reputation, and artificial intelligence.

Did you know there were more than 80 million tweets about holidays from July 2016 to January 2017? Since these types of posts are so popular, it’s easy to build connections and buzz with holiday cheer.

From a holiday gift guide to creating a how-to resource for crafting the perfect holiday post, people go crazy for this type of content. You can add it into your social media queue, your next newsletter, or your blog. With that much interest, it would be a shame to waste an opportunity to include the holiday theme in your content and campaigns.

Level Up

Social media has been taking off since 2004, and its influence has increased dramatically.  In fact, 62 percent of people get their news from social media, according to a recent report. As a PR pro, it’s your job to know social media and understand how to make sure your content gets noticed. Need a few tips?

Remember the phrase “a picture is worth a thousand words”? The same is true for social media, except instead of words, you get engagements.

2018: The Year of Trust

This past year has been filled with scandals and fake news, and Forbes has named 2018 the year of trust. People have become more skeptical about what they read online, and it takes more to gain the public trust now. This is one reason word-of-mouth influencers won in 2017, people trust them more than large corporations.

To gain trust and improve brand reputation, your content needs to be accurate. Back up your content with credible sources and use data to prove that that you are being honest. By offering an authentic point of view, you are more likely to connect with your audience.

Machine learning is already helping PR and marketing professionals learn about their audience and customers. It helps simplify elements of the job process and offers time-saving tools to these fast-paced agencies. And this is only expected to increase.
