In 1986, Claude-Olivier became a partner of Zurich-based Farner Public Relations and created their agency in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. In 1990, he founded Rochat & Partners.
Besides a unique network of contacts, Claude-Olivier has strong experience in banking and financial PR, public affairs and lobbying, crisis management and communication for IT companies.
The Swiss financial daily Agefi describes him as “a man of influence more than a public person”. And the book Those who make Geneva underlines “don’t be mystified by his rather British phlegm. He has a lot of drive. And is as efficient as he is calm.”

I find it ironic that it was only after all of the consumers, the goods, the services, the retailers, and the media became more and more similar around the world that we could finally agree on the value of differentiating our communication to accommodate different cultures.
Developing a global strategy without sufficient insight into local markets is a recipe for disaster.
Why did anyone ever think that developing one cookie cutter plan in one boardroom would achieve the same results in 100 around the world?
The days of global strategy leading to “one rigid global action plan” are thankfully over! Global communicators everywhere understand the crucial role of cultural adaptation. It still isn’t easy for most people to know what does not translate, but at least everyone now knows to check.
The only strategy that works globally is one that has the built-in capacity for local adaptation everywhere.
