Recruiting the Next Generation of Statisticians
Project Description
The 175-year-old American Statistical Association (ASA) engaged Stanton Communications as its first-ever Agency of Record to develop a campaign to encourage more students to pursue degrees in statistics. The program was developed through Stanton’s Matrix Blueprint, a strategic planning process that closely aligns an organization’s objectives with measurable, impactful communication initiatives.
Key elements of the plan include a theme – “This is Statistics” – that provides a platform for content and messaging carried out through a campaign website and social channels all built by the Stanton team. Through innovative messaging informed by research and insights, the Stanton team designed a media outreach and content marketing program that has garnered 73 million media impressions and placements in high-value publications including the Washington Post, Fast Company, USA Today College and Fortune magazine. Original content produced by Stanton has reached hundreds of thousands of people in our target audiences of students, parents, teachers and counselors. This includes a series of original short videos viewed by 70,000 users on YouTube and Facebook, and ongoing mini social media sharing and advertising campaigns that have reached and engaged over 100,000.
