Public Relations Internship

Applications are currently closed.

Stanton Communications, Inc., an award-winning public relations firm based in Washington, D.C., seeks an intern to join its team. The intern will work closely with Stanton leadership and account teams to support fundamental work on client campaigns, as well as to complete a committed solo project over the course of the program.

Responsibilities will include: building and updating media lists and databases, monitoring media coverage and developing weekly reports, brainstorming pitch angles and crafting sample pitches, conducting and compiling research, drafting social media content and assisting with firm promotional and business development efforts. In addition, there will be a heavy emphasis placed on professional development, and over the course of the program, interns will have opportunities to engage peers, managers and company leadership for perspectives and insights on building a public relations career.

Candidates must have an interest in the public relations field; strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; a strong work ethic; and the ability to quickly adapt to new assignments and deadlines. Working on or recently completed a degree in Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing is preferred. Prior agency experience is a plus.

Candidates also must be able to commit to 20-25 hours a week for the duration of a 12-week program, aligned to the summer university semester. Interns will be compensated at a wage of $18/hour. Stanton’s work environment is hybrid, and candidates must be able to commit to working on-site at our DC office at least once a week throughout the program.

When submissions re-open, candidates may email a cover letter, resume and writing sample to:
