Here is a roundup of events and activities happening in the area.” via=”no”]We thought we’d round up some of our favorite events and activities happening throughout the tri-state area to help you get ready for some fun in the sun!
National Memorial Day Concert – DC
One of our favorite events just happens to be the National Memorial Day Concert on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol. This year’s performers include Patti LaBelle, Gavin DeGraw, Justin Moore and Alison Kraus. The gates to enter open at 5pm and the concert begins at 8pm, no tickets needed.
Last Rolling Thunder – DC
The Rolling Thunder Ride for Freedom will do one final bike ride throughout D.C. after 31 years. The motorcycle ride first started as a demonstration to advocate for prisoners of war and those who are missing in action. The kick off will be at noon on Sunday, May 26, as bikes take off from the North Pentagon parking lot and ride their way through the Mall area.
Hometown Holidays Music Festival – Rockville, MD
On Saturday, May 25, enjoy three days of more than 30 free performances across four stages in Rockville Town Square. Savor bites at the Taste of Rockville portion of the festival, where attendees get to sample local restaurants. The weekend concludes with the annual Memorial Day Parade featuring marching bands, floats and more.
Brew at the Zoo – Baltimore, MD
One of the most popular beer festivals is this Memorial Day weekend, May 25th & May 26th at the Baltimore Maryland Zoo. Enjoy good times with the animals and unlimited beer sampling of more than 80 brew varieties, plus live music, local artisan vendors and, of course, all-day admission to the Zoo (10am – 6pm).
Memorial Day Quantico Fireworks Party – Quantico, VA
The Town of Quantico will host its 6th annual Memorial Day Weekend Fireworks and Music Concert on Saturday, May 25th (7pm-11:00pm). The event will be held on the outdoor river front park, bring a lawn chair and enjoy the free show.
